I'm an investment associate at a family office that invests in public companies through structured debt and equity instruments. I've been there since 2022.
What I'm good at
I evaluate public companies as investment prospects. Reading public filings and computing what a given structure actually returns.
Most of what I do starts as a large, ugly dataset. I compile the monthly reporting that tells our investment team whether current strategy is working, and pull out the trends that argue for changing it.
I write the internal tooling our investment team uses daily. Dashboards, calculators, pipeline trackers. All of these in Python, JavaScript, and other languages. Finding the manual process that shouldn't be manual and quietly automating it is my favorite thing to do.
Structured debt and equity instruments. I build the model, help find the structure that fits the situation, and draft the term sheet that reflects it.
I carry transactions from the first call through to close, which means the analysis and the relationship are the same job. Earlier in my career, I closed several hundred of them in small-business lending.
I manage a direct report who runs the front of our outreach effort.
